Reviewing FanFiction
Reviews are the currency by which fanfiction authors are paid. Because of this, if you read a story, you really should review. No one is morally obligated to review a story, but if you liked it, you should tell the author so. If you add an author or a story as your favorite, you should really review to let the author know who their fans are. If you feel like the author was missing some important part, or did something wrong, you should tell them so through constructive criticism. Constructive criticism helps authors to become better writers. You should NEVER flame an author if you didn’t like their work.
Lomesir has written a great essay on how to review in Inescapeable: Ranting and Raving. She gives really good information on how to review properly. If you are ever in doubt, just refer back to her advice.
